Before Applying

Before completing your application, please first take a few minutes to review all of our rules and minimum requirements for membership. These are a bit lengthy but you'll need to read them all through at least once to make sure you've got everything covered. To ensure that your application is not turned down, you'll need to have lined up a few things before applying and these are detailed in the minimum requirements. For example:

  • Do you have a DPS forum account yet?

  • Is your XFire account set up in your DPS forum profile?

  • Are you using Ventrilo yet to talk to us on our voice server while playing?

  • Most importantly, are you playing regularly with us yet? If not, then we strongly recommend that you spend some time playing with us first over a number of days or you're application will fail. Apart from our usual evening get-togethers, we like to meet applicants on Wednesday nights at 9pm PST and Sunday mornings at 11am PST on Ventrilo for some gaming fun. It's a two way street. You get to know us and we get to know you.

How Applications Are Processed

  1. You can officially apply to join us by using the form at the bottom of this page to select your DPS forum account name and enter your DPS forum account password. You will then be taken to a short questionaire that you must complete and submit.

  2. When you click upon the questionaire's "submit" button, your application will be automatically posted to the Applications forum as a new thread. This is the only method by which you can apply. From then on, existing members can interact with you in your application thread. You may be asked additional questions based upon your answers and you are free to ask questions of us too. Please do not reply on someone else's application and please keep all of your posts relevant to your application. (Don't go off topic with unrelated discussions.) Please do not bump your application thread unless it hasn't had any posts for a week. All these rules are designed so members with little time for the forums can get to the grit of your application quickly without having to wade through spammy and off-topic posts. You can at any time post a message in your thread asking for your application to be closed if you change your mind.

  3. Eventually you may aquire enough sponsors from the DPS membership to make you a potential recruitment candidate. Please do not expect to be instantly sponsored. That is unrealistic. Like all good clans, we want to get to know you well first over a period of time. Be very wary of any clan who instantly admits members. This is a bad sign that indicates that the clan is deperate for members and doesn't really care if the applicant is a fun and considerate person that existing members will enjoy interacting with or a total pain in the butt that will bad-mouth everyone and cause a lot of in-fighting and splinter your clan.

  4. When you have sufficient sponsors, a DPS administrator will perform some checks to make sure that you meet all of the necessary requirements. If you do not meet them all then the DPS administrator will either temporarily suspend your application until they are met or will deny your application and close your thread.

  5. Once you have been sponsored and we have confirmed you have met our requirements then congratulations, you have officially become a DPS Candidate and your forum profile will be changed to reflect this. You are not a DPS member at this stage and cannot wear our tags but existing members are going to sit up and pay close attention to how you behave and fit in and how frequent a player you are.

  6. A two week poll is set up for all official DPS Candidates, apart from people applying to our International Division via our NT and Jetstream exemptions. If ten percent or more of our membership vote against your admission or more people vote against than for, then your application will fail, your application thread will be closed and your Candidate status removed.

  7. Official DPS Candidates who successfully move beyond the poll stage will be sent a link that will enable them to complete a PayPal subscription for DPS membership. Our membership fees are $5 per month (payable as $15 automatically every 3 months until you cancel membership or log in to your PayPal account to cancel your subscription.) If you are unable to pay then you can pass this link on to someone else who can use it to pay for you. Membership fees are used to pay for the clan's game servers.

  8. Candidates have two weeks to set up their subscription, during which time they remain Candidates. If the subscription is set up during this period then they automatically become full DPS members. If at the end of two weeks they are unable to set up their subscription, their application is denied and closed and they lose candidate status but are free to reapply from scratch again in the future.
