We were talking about your CoD4 issue over xfire then you had to go...here's some info I found.

Looks like this guy has your same mobo and CPU...he was having a conflict with xfire. Try closing xfire and launching the game.

Let me know what happens. We can use this thread to decipher your problem.

The a7n8x mobo has a socketA (aka socket 462) for the CPU slot....looks like the fastest socketA CPU that came out was the Athlon XP 3200+ which runs at 2.2 Ghz....you can find them cheap on ebay....may be worth looking in to for a cheap/quick upgrade since that's CoD4's minimum requirement.

2.4 is the minimum. I'm running 2.177 with my XP 3000. I'll try some of the other solutions you posted in xfire
